Following extensive research, site visits and seminars, students from Lincoln University School of Architecture, Design, Business, Health and Social Care submitted Design Guides relating to the future development of Housing with Extra Care in Lincolnshire. This was a competition sponsored by the Association, Thornton Firkin LLP, Saunders Boston Architects, Lindum Group and South Holland District Council.

Following presentations, the winning group of Year 2 students were presented with their prize of £1,500 on Friday 27th May, by Nick Chambers, the Associations Chief Executive.

“The competition involved six groups of students who remained engaged throughout” said Nick. “The submission of Design Guides and subsequent presentations clearly demonstrated that students had developed knowledge and understanding associated to the challenges faced by older people and how these can be overcome through innovative solutions. We are most grateful to everyone involved in the competition, the outcome of which will influence our future design and development of Housing with Extra Care in Lincolnshire”
