L&H Homes and LACE Housing are proud to announce that their £7.7million housing developments at Poplar Farm in Grantham are underway, with plans to transform former farm land into 70 much needed new homes.
L&H Homes’ chairman, Sidney McFarlane MBE, marked the Start on Site by cutting the soil with Cllr Frances Cartwright, South Kesteven District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Grow the Economy, along with representatives from L&H Homes, Longhurst Group, LACE Housing, South Kesteven District Council, Lindum Construction, and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
This latest phase of residential development at Poplar Farm, which has received £880,000 in grant funding from the Homes & Communities Agency, will provide a wide range of high quality affordable homes to meet the needs of local residents. The range of properties will include one bedroom flats, one, two and three bedroom houses and two bedroom bungalows. There will also be a number of two bedroom flats and two bedroom bungalows specifically for older people. The properties will be available to rent through the local authority’s Choice Based Lettings scheme with a number offered for sale through shared ownership.

Cllr Cartwright said: “It’s great to start another partnership in South Kesteven with L&H Homes, Lindum Group and LACE Housing. These new homes will help us achieve the right balance, offering a variety of housing options to meet local needs. Their excellent location will appeal to local residents wishing to move and those relocating into the district.”

Due to the very good working relationship built up over time, we got involved with this project at an early stage and, as a result, have been able to help with forward funding some of the early costs to enable the scheme to gain momentum. For example, we have been able to secure the supply of bricks and concrete which, due the current shortages facing the construction industry as a whole, have been ordered far earlier than normal.
Lindum is a local company employing local tradesmen, local sub-contractors and using local suppliers which means much of the project expenditure will directly benefit the Lincolnshire economy."
