An early start from Reeth was the order of the day as the team departed for Richmond. Whilst the sun did appear, it was a chilly start as the team continued their trek along the river Swale, this time witnessing Sand Martins nesting within the river embankment.
Passing Marrick Abbey and through Marske, the team arrived in Richmond, taking up the opportunity to stock up on food provisions and medication, before continuing the walk to Catterick Bridge.
The A1 is in sight as the team recognised that they are two thirds through the walk. Day 8 incorporates over 22 miles before Helen and Craig Renard from the Sir Robert Pattinson Academy join them at Ingleby Cross.
