It’s Loneliness Awareness Week and loneliness is something that’s now more prevalent than ever.
We provide housing for older people – a group of the population that can feel particularly lonely – and one of our key aims has always been to mitigate loneliness and isolation among our residents.
While we have been unable to organise and host our usual activities, we have developed other ways to maintain social contact with our residents.
Our staff are continuing to have regular social phone calls with our residents who requested one and our restaurants, within our extra care schemes, continue to provide a daily delivery service of hot meals.
