Collinson Court

Located South of Scunthorpe town centre and within the District of North Lincolnshire, our new development, Collinson Court, is situated on the former site of The Riddings Methodist Church on Willoughby Road.

Collinson Court will provide affordable, safe and secure homes for those over the age of 55 and will consist of two 2-storey blocks incorporating 16 one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as a communal lounge facility, mobility scooter store and enclosed private gardens either side of a link corridor. The scheme is located within easy reach of convenience stores, supermarkets, takeaways, doctor’s surgery and public transport.

Local contractors TG Sowerby's have been appointed to complete the scheme which has been designed by Cambridge based Saunders Boston Architects, our scheme aims to reflect best practice in quality and efficiency standards. Award winning Just Imagine Interiors and Influence Landscape Architects will ensure that our scheme creates a modern, relaxed and spacious home for those who value independent living.

It is hoped that completion will be achieved by Autumn 2022.

How to apply

Collinson Court is within the district of North Lincolnshire Unitary Authority. 

These homes are available for people aged 55 and over with a local connection and who meet the qualifying criteria.* The Scheme will be advertised through North Lincolnshire Unitary Authority Home Choice Lettings system approximately 12 -16 weeks before the scheme completes .

If you would like us to contact you when registration is open please complete our online form, we expect registration to open in Spring 2022. Once we near the completion of the scheme, our dedicated Housing team will provide further information regarding the application process.

If you currently have a housing need please contact North Lincolnshire Unitary Authority direct for advice on housing options currently available to you. Collinson Court will not be available for occupancy until approximately Autumn 2022.

*We have agreed the following lettings criteria with North Lincolnshire Unitary Authority for these homes.

A person must satisfy the following qualifications:

  1. is an Individual over the age of 55;
  2. has a local connection to the Riddings Housing area of Scunthorpe
  3. has a local connection to North Lincolnshire;
  4. is eligible to be housed in accordance with LACE lettings policy having regard to the Allocation Policy;
  5. is not able easily to compete in the open market for housing accommodation in the district of North Lincolnshire; and
  6. intends to occupy and subsequently occupies the Dwelling as their only or principal home.

To satisfy the local connection a person must satisfy the following criteria: 

  1. was born in the area and lived there for 5 years or more; or
  2. has permanently resided for 5 years or more in the area; or
  3. used to permanently live in the area for 5 years or more but has been forced to move away because of the lack of affordable housing; or
  4. has been permanently employed in the area for 5 years or more

The priority to be given to the local connection in as follows:

  1. To the area of Riddings
  2. To the adjacent and immediately surrounding housing areas of Old and New Westcliff, Trent View House, Yaddlethorpe, Bottesford, Ashby or Lincoln Gardens
  3. North Lincolnshire
