Day 3 - Cleveland Way

We are certainly putting our walking gear to the test. Driving rain and cold winds was the order of the day as we set off from Great Ayton this morning. We maintained a good pace as we were keen to reach Saltburn on Sea in order to dry out. We were welcomed at a pub in Skelton enroute for hot chocolate in an attempt to raise spirits and dry out. We have been averaging 3 miles an hour and we were able to maintain this today. Aches and pains are taking their toll, but thanks to various remedies (including the local ale), everyone is upbeat. We continue to receive messages of good luck which is immensely appreciated. A big thank you to those who continue to donate on the Just Giving Website, this is a major boost.

Now in Saltburn, everyone is stocking up on provisions and preparing for tomorrow's trek to Runswick Bay, hoping that the weather will continue to improve as we make our way down the Yorkshire Coast. Elliot continues to do incredibly well, often taking the lead. Trevor has noted that the village of 'Bridleway' must be big as there are signposts everywhere!
