Coast to Coast-Day 9

An early start from Catterick Bridge was essential in order to ensure the successful completion of 22 miles to Ingleby Cross, north of Mount Grace Priory.

Along the way the team passed Catterick Race Course and crossed the A1,  the East coast railway line and the A19.  Much of the walk was along roads and fields in which the team observed Swallows and butterfly's. Fields displayed the vibrant colours of green and yellow.

This was a long walk, causing even more discomfort to already aching limbs, knees and feet. The sun was welcome, although lotion to protect from sunburn was essential.

On arrival to Ingelby Cross, they were surprised by the unannounced welcome party including Emma and Tracey from Brick Kiln Place.  It was wonderful to see them, particularly given the time they had spent on the road. Thank you to you both, it was great to see you and a huge boost. The team were also delighted to welcome Helen and Craig Renard to the team as they join the walkers for the final 50 miles to Robin Hoods Bay.

Day 10 will experience much hill climbing as the team make their way across the North Yorkshire Moors.
